The Team
Richard England's first foray into the stone industry was in the early 1960's working in demolition and stone reclamation. He then opened his first quarry on Ham Hill in 1965, followed by a Blue Lias quarry in 1995, Both quarries are still active today and are run by his son Zak England.
Based in Charlton Adam, Somerset its an evergrowing family business which is known globally for its quality stone.
Zak England
Managing Director
Zak joined his Father in the business 24 years ago and together they have grown Ham & Doulting into the company it is today. With his background in mechanical engineering, primarily learned on the tools, Zak is very much “hands on” and can usually be found at the controls of the myriad quarrying plant, behind the wheel of the lorry collecting block or installing new machinery in the factory. Never frightened to get his hands dirty, and with a strong work ethic, as Managing Director Zak leads from the front and is always on the lookout for new opportunities to grow and improve the company.

Will O'Brien
Production Manager
Will started in the stone Industry in 1984 as an apprentice stone mason. His knowledge of stone has grown throughout the years and he has now settled here @ H&D Stone.

Sawyers & Stone Splitters
Shane, Andy, Richard, Jamie and Robin complete the team at our Tout yard in Charlton Adam. They are all experienced sawyers and splitters and operate their own machines on site.

Stonemasons
Mark and Ben are our experienced team of masons on site at Tout Quarry.
